While
a majority of this documentation is based upon my personal experience and
observation, I would like to thank the many people who provided assistance in
the form of answering questions, providing pictures and proofreading my
typos. My sister deserves a big thank
you for taking the time to supply some of the pictures, suggest editorial
changes and contribute her endearing story of the time she saw the Fair
American fire cannons in Central Park.
The biggest round of applause should obviously go to my father. He not only left behind the artistic objects
and legacy to write about, he left a fair amount of notes, plans, magazine
